Astro Note Purple One Star Anime Music

Ai Furihata takes on her first anime tie-in. After releasing her first full album Super moon in 2023 and holding the Kobe and Tokyo performances of her fourth live tour, USAGI, she reaches this new milestone more than three years after her solo debut.

Astro Note is a fresh science-fiction romantic comedy set in an apartment building, which began airing in April 2024. Its opening theme Hohoemi no Oto is a nostalgic, happiness-filled song that fits the world of the anime perfectly.

The song brings together composer Akimitsu Honma, known for producing artists including Porno Graffitti and Ikimonogakari, and lyricist Yukinojo Mori, whose work spans hits for rock musicians such as Tomoyasu Hotei, Showa-era pop and anime songs. The result showcases a sound that Furihata, with her exploration of city pop rooted in the 1980s, is uniquely able to present.
