Aishiteiru to Itte Kure Complete Series Blu-ray Box

One of TBS’s landmark dramas, starring Etsushi Toyokawa and Takako Tokiwa and written by Eriko Kitagawa, makes its first appearance on Blu-ray. Thirty years after its original broadcast, this gentle, poignant love story of a young man without spoken words and a woman pursuing her dreams returns in a special box.

Koji Sakaki is a young painter who lost his hearing as a child and has lived in solitude. Hiroko Mizuno is an aspiring actress who loves him wholeheartedly. After a chance meeting, their hearts slowly begin to connect. As they overcome the barrier of spoken language and communicate through sign language, they grow both as a couple and as people.

The collection includes all 12 drama episodes and supplementary footage, including the 2020 special in which Etsushi Toyokawa and Takako Tokiwa reunite remotely after 25 years. Other extras feature the production announcement, a trailer collection, an interview with Takako Tokiwa, memorable scenes and previously unseen cuts.

A booklet accompanies the special three-sided box. It reproduces Eriko Kitagawa’s making-of diary from the Aishiteiru to Itte Kure screenplay collection, published by Kadokawa Shoten in December 1995, and includes a newly written comment prepared for this Blu-ray release.
