Kamen no Ninja Akakage TV Series

Based on the work of Mitsuteru Yokoyama, this is a masterpiece of historical fantasy with special effects. The first part, Kinmekyo, depicts the fierce struggle between the Hida ninjas Akakage, Aokage and Shirokage and the seven warriors of Kasumi Valley led by Koga Genyosai.

When Toyotomi Hideyoshi was still known as Kinoshita Tokichiro, a suspicious religion called Kinmekyo was spreading south of Lake Biwa. Those who did not believe in it were said to suffer a terrible curse. What was its true nature? To uncover Kinmekyo's secret, Tokichiro summoned a masked ninja from Hida. His name is Akakage! This passage comes from the opening narration.

The first Blu-ray, labeled Disc 1, contains episode 1, Monster Toad Monk; episode 2, Koga's Evil Boy; episode 3, The Toad Monk Strikes Back; episode 4, The Strange Ninja Mansion; episode 5, The Mysterious Spinning-Top Ninja; and episode 6, Terror of the Great Demon Statue.

The second Blu-ray, labeled Disc 2, contains episode 7, One-Eyed Sorcery; episode 8, The Secret of the Foreign Cannon; episode 9, The Indestructible Demon Statue; episode 10, Strange Ninja Black Bat; episode 11, Kinenbo's Iron Cart; episode 12, Yamihime's Hair Storm; and episode 13, Operation Destroy the Great Demon Statue.

The cast features Yuzaburo Sakaguchi, Yoshinobu Kaneko and Fuyukichi Maki. Because the original material is old, portions of the picture and sound have defects that cannot be repaired.
