Akira Miyagawa, composer for Space Battleship Yamato 2199 and 2202, reconstructs music from the series into a new symphonic suite. Looking toward the 1977 Symphonic Suite Space Battleship Yamato created by his father Hiroshi Miyagawa, he works with the studio musicians who helped shape the scores to bring together a Yamato sound for a new era.

This two-LP edition is cut from the recordings released on CD on January 15, 2021. Shigeru Takezawa handles the cutting, as on the companion 2024 mix of the original suite. Updated 2024 liner notes are included.
