Katsuhiro Otomo produces AKIRA's first remix album, selecting Makoto Kubota, Yasuharu Konishi and Kuniaki Haishima to reinterpret Shoji Yamashiro's music performed by Geinoh Yamashirogumi. Otomo also directs the artwork and supplies a newly drawn jacket illustration.
Kubota handles the first disc, including KANEDA, TETSUO and REQUIEM, with SHOHMYOH2 and TETSUO2 included as additional CD tracks. Konishi remixes the opening three selections on disc two, followed by Haishima's interpretations, making nineteen tracks across the set.
