Analog Deluxe Edition Blu-ray

I want to see you. No matter what happens.

They can meet only on Thursdays. The person he fell in love with does not own a mobile phone. Kazunari Ninomiya and Haru appear together for the first time in this adaptation of Analog, the first romance novel Beat Takeshi wrote at the age of seventy. “Because I love you, I want to see you.” This love story feels both nostalgic and new, portraying an analogue feeling that never changes with the times. It is directed by Hideta Takahata, whose work includes Two Homelands, the special drama marking TV Tokyo’s fifty-fifth anniversary, and The Dove Repellent Method.

Satoru is a designer who insists on making models by hand and drawing his illustrations himself. Miyuki is a mysterious woman who does not own a mobile phone.

They meet by chance at a café called Piano. Instead of exchanging contact details, they promise to meet at the same place every Thursday.

They build up irreplaceable moments together. Without knowing anything about Miyuki’s background, Satoru decides to propose to her.

But on that day she does not appear. Nor does she come the following week, or the following month…

Why has Miyuki suddenly vanished? What past has she kept hidden, and what feelings has she held inside? Will the special Thursdays shared by just the two of them ever return?

Now that we have rediscovered the joy of being able to see someone precious to us, this love story explores the very origins of love.

The deluxe edition includes a newly recorded visual commentary in which Kazunari Ninomiya, Haru and director Hideta Takahata discuss stories from the shoot in depth. Further extras include deleted scenes, making-of footage and event coverage of the completion screening, opening-day stage greetings and hit celebration, along with teasers, trailers and television spots.
