Anyway, I'm Falling in Love with You Animation

“I knew we couldn’t stay like this forever.” Adapted from Haruka Mitsui’s popular shojo manga, with more than 1.25 million copies in circulation and readers in Japan and overseas, Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You follows Mizuho Nishino and four distinctive childhood friends who grew up together like family. Past and future intersect as their relationships change, with beautifully rendered backgrounds rooted in the real world. INI performs the opening theme Make It Count, while Marcy supplies the ending theme Negaigoto.

On July 1, 2020, second-year high-school student Mizuho is having the worst seventeenth birthday imaginable. Her chance to grow closer to the older student she admires disappears, and her parents have completely forgotten her birthday. An unfamiliar infectious disease has also forced the cancellation of club competitions and the school trip. Convinced that she will never experience a sparkling youth, she is caught off guard when her childhood friend Kizuki suddenly announces himself as a candidate to be her boyfriend.

Volume 1 begins the story with episodes one to four. Audio commentaries feature Sakura Shinfuku and Kazuki Ura for episode one, joined by Shion Yoshitaka for episode four. The creditless opening and the creditless version of episode one’s ending are also included.

The release comes in a three-sided box with a digipak newly illustrated by original manga creator Haruka Mitsui. Its booklet contains story material, features on the opening and ending music, a Mizuho Nishino character profile, an interview with her performer Sakura Shinfuku, and Mitsui’s newly drawn manga Somebody Is in Love with Me. A Seishun photo-strip card and a postcard featuring the jacket artwork complete the set.
