Atashino! Standard Edition Blu-ray

Momoko Koda’s hit comic Atashino!, from the creator of Heroine Shikkaku and Sensei Kunshu, becomes a live-action film about the clash between destined romance and the bonds of friendship.

Akoko Sekikawa can say “I like you!” without hesitation, hiding neither her feelings for the person she loves nor her true thoughts from her closest friend. Naoki Mitomo is the school’s hugely popular heartthrob, the reason many girls look forward to attending. Mitsuki Taniguchi seems quiet, yet reveals glimpses of a more calculating side. Naoki’s cool friend Ao Narita also becomes someone Akoko can turn to for advice.

This romantic comedy captures the sparkle of youth as its characters grow with the story. Caught between love and friendship, can Akoko turn her meeting with Naoki into the romance she believes is destined for her? A love-battle adventure for everyone who is in love or wants to fall in love, with Akoko’s wonderfully positive youth at stake.

Akoko is straightforward and almost too honest, with her best friend Mitsuki always at her side. When a new school year begins, Naoki joins their year after repeating a grade, and Akoko falls for him at first sight. Mitsuki insists that she does not like Naoki, but her behaviour suggests otherwise. Believing that the first move wins, Akoko approaches him directly and confesses her feelings, only to be rejected.

Though discouraged, Akoko learns why Naoki does not have a girlfriend and decides to keep loving him. Meanwhile, Mitsuki also begins to draw closer to him.
