AYAKA Animation

The boy returns to the place where destiny leads him. A story of souls and bonds unfolds on a mysterious island. AYAKA comes to Blu-ray.

Yukito Yanagi grew up in a children’s home on the mainland. One day, the unruly young man Jingi Sagawa appears, claiming to be a disciple of Yukito’s late father, and takes Yukito back to his birthplace, the Ayaka Islands. This strange archipelago of seven islands is steeped in legends of dragons of fire and water, and mysterious beings called Mitama live there as an ordinary part of life.

Yukito begins living on the Ayaka Islands and becomes involved with the three disciples of his father, who was said to have been a sage protecting the islands’ harmony. But there is a deep feud between Jingi’s two senior fellow disciples, Haruaki Kurama and Aka Ibuki. What truth will Yukito face on this mysterious island as its harmony starts to crumble?

The release includes the original soundtrack by Kana Shibue and a booklet. Its jacket features a new illustration by original character designer redjuice, with a slipcase and digipak. Bonus footage includes textless opening and ending sequences and promotional videos.
