Believers Deluxe Edition Blu-ray

Farewell to the corrupt secular world.

On an isolated island, pure faith clashes with desires that cannot be suppressed. What lies beyond sensual dreams and an extreme reality?

Two men and a woman live on a remote island. They belong to a religious organization called the Niko Niko Life Center and share life on the deserted island under the Island Program, dreaming of the day when they can reach a place of peace.

They have abandoned their real names. One man, played by Hayato Isomura, calls himself the Operator; the woman, played by Yui Kitamura, is the Vice Chair; and the other man, played by Shohei Uno, is the Chair. They address one another by these titles. Wearing matching T-shirts printed with something like a smiling emoticon, they follow the prescribed daily program and live by a strict routine.

After waking, they sit on the ground with their legs extended and the soles of their feet touching to form a triangle, and meditate. They then gather around a simple breakfast and report the dreams they had the previous night. Next, they write the symbols that come into their heads on a whiteboard and begin something like a telepathy experiment, checking whether their mental images match.

The Blu-ray contains the approximately 118-minute film, with stage greetings, making-of footage and a talk with the director and cast. An outer case is included. The bonus contents may change.

The cast includes Hayato Isomura, Yui Kitamura, Shohei Uno, Katsuya Maiguma and Naoki Yamamoto. The film is based on Naoki Yamamoto's Believers, published by Shogakukan, and is directed and written by Hideo Jojo, with music by Keiichi Sokabe. Product specifications are subject to change.
