Betrothed to My Sister's Ex Part 1 Blu-ray + CD

A misunderstanding sets a young woman in rags on a Cinderella-like path. The popular romance series, which surpassed two million copies in circulation, receives its long-awaited television anime adaptation and Blu-ray release.

Marie, the second daughter of a poor baron, wears tattered clothes and is treated like a servant by her parents. Yet she remains honest and kind, continuing to devote herself to her family. When a party is held for her birthday, it is her princess-like elder sister Anastasia who takes centre stage. Standing sadly outside the venue, Marie happens to meet the immensely wealthy Count Kyuros Granado.

The two are drawn to one another, and the count falls in love with Marie at first sight. A misunderstanding, however, leads him to propose to Anastasia instead. Their engagement moves forward rapidly, until Anastasia dies in an accident and Marie is sent to marry the count in her place.

Emerging actress Rena Motomura, also heard in Maebashi Witches, voices Marie. Kyuros is played by Daiki Hamano, who took his first leading role in SSSS.DYNAZENON and appears in The Idolmaster SideM and Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle — Rhyme Anima. Minami Tanaka, the lead in Nina the Starry Bride, voices Anastasia. Ryohei Kimura, known for Kuroko’s Basketball and Haikyu!!, plays Prince Louis-phon, Kyuros’s old friend, while Yoko Hikasa of Shaman King and Shangri-La Frontier voices Marie’s maid Mio. This accomplished ensemble brings colour and energy to the story.

The release includes a sleeve with new artwork by character designer Akiko Sato and a booklet featuring a newly written story by original author Tobirano. Special CD Volume 1 contains an original voice drama based on a new Tobirano script, performed by Rena Motomura as Marie and Daiki Hamano as Kyuros, together with the original soundtrack. These original-author episodes offer fans material created specifically for the Blu-ray extras. Episodes 1–6 are joined by the creditless opening and ending.
