Black Pean Season 2 Blu-ray Box brings Kazunari Ninomiya back to the medical drama as Yukihiko Amagi, a brilliant surgeon whose unsettling resemblance to Seishiro Tokai raises questions of its own. Six years after Tokai left Tojo University Hospital, director Seigo Saeki is pursuing an ambitious new cardiac hospital and the presidency of Japan's medical association.

Saeki sends surgeon Masashi Sera to Australia with a letter for Amagi. On the Gold Coast, Sera and fellow doctor Yuji Kakitani struggle to help an unconscious boy until a mysterious stranger intervenes. Their search eventually leads them to a racecourse, where they discover that the stranger is Amagi himself, a world-renowned talent known as the devil for the way he plays with people and money.

The ten-episode season stars Ninomiya alongside Ryoma Takeuchi, Wakana Aoi and Kim Mu-jun, with Choi Ji-woo in a special appearance. Its medical confrontations and hospital power struggles build on the world of Takeru Kaido's novels.

This five-disc set contains approximately 529 minutes of the series on three Blu-rays, plus two supplementary discs with approximately 269 minutes of material. The extras explore the production through making-of footage, cast discussions, outtakes, wrap-up footage and the Black Pean side story about the medical staff's everyday lives. Episode one also includes commentary by Kazunari Ninomiya, Ryoma Takeuchi and director Masaki Nishiura.

Released by TBS and TBS Glowdia and distributed by TC Entertainment, the region-free edition features Japanese Linear PCM stereo audio. Japanese accessibility subtitles are provided for the main episodes. A booklet accompanies the discs.
