BLUE ENCOUNT's Mikansei is the ending theme of From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman II. The fantasy series began as novels by Shigeru Sagazaki with illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. Together with Kazuki Sato's manga adaptation and two spin-offs, the series has passed nine million copies in circulation.

The first television anime season reached audiences around the world, entering the top ten in more than 45 countries and regions. For the second season, vocalist Shunichi Tanabe wrote and composed Mikansei. Drawing on the many experiences and friendships that have helped him keep moving forward, the song asks what gives a person's existence value, carrying an emotional and strongly felt message.

The standard CD contains Mikansei, Genjitsu and the television-size version of Mikansei.
