The first anime season of the popular light novel arrives in a Blu-ray box set. The novels have exceeded 1.2 million copies in circulation and ranked among the top ten in the paperback division of Takarajimasha's This Light Novel Is Amazing! for five consecutive years. The original release announcement also introduced the second television season, Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki 2nd Stage, beginning in January 2024.

Fan-awaited audio commentaries have been newly recorded, with original author Yuki Yaku also appearing. A special CD compiles every previously released character song. The three-sided box features an entirely new illustration by original character designer Fly.

Story Fumiya Tomozaki is one of Japan's best gamers, but in real life he is a lonely high-school student. He declares life a terrible game, until he meets Aoi Hinami, the school's perfect heroine. Take this game called life seriously! Is life really a terrible game, or a masterpiece? Under Hinami's guidance, a bottom-tier high-school student's attempt to master life begins.
