Bullbuster Animation

Stand up to giant beasts—and reality!

Bullbuster, the “economically sound” robot-hero project, finally becomes a television anime in October 2023. The project began selling concept books at COMITIA and Comic Market in 2017. A serialised web novel followed on Kakuyomu in 2018, with a commercial book published by KADOKAWA that same year. An audio-drama adaptation arrived in 2022, steadily building recognition before the television anime.

Young engineer Tetsuro Okino is assigned to the pest-control company Hato Industries, bringing Bullbuster, the new robot he developed himself. But the company’s opponents turn out to be mysterious creatures known as giant beasts! Financial problems constantly trouble the business. Between the ideal of defeating these creatures and the reality of operating costs, does Hato have a future?

Tajima leads Hato Industries, a small company perpetually short of money. Robot fuel, pilots’ wages—even a single wasted round of ammunition is unacceptable. As Tetsuro and his colleagues confront the giant beasts, their hopes must contend with the harsh realities of the company’s finances.

The edition includes creditless opening and ending videos, audio dramas, and the Kitakyushu special movie “BULLBUSTER -KEEP YOU SAFE-”.
