Bullets Over Broadway brings Woody Allen's acclaimed 1994 film to the musical stage, with a book by Allen himself and a production on Broadway, where the story is set. The original film received seven Academy Award nominations and won the award for Supporting Actress.
Set in the Broadway theatre world of the 1920s, this backstage comedy musical centres on playwright David and Cheech, the bodyguard accompanying one of his actresses. The glamour of show business meets Prohibition-era gangsters in a web of romantic entanglements.
Susan Stroman, known for The Producers, directs and choreographs the production. Songs from the Great American Songbook of the 1920s and 1930s are performed by the original Broadway cast on this recording. This Japanese edition presents the album on Blu-spec CD2 with lyrics and Japanese translations.
