Buzzy Noise Standard Edition Blu-ray

An authentic portrait of youth and music, whose awkward kindness inspires overwhelming empathy. For those of us who find life difficult, this is our first encounter with a real sound.

The acclaimed manga Buzzy Noise, which attracted attention particularly on social media through its fresh musical expression and timely themes centred on desktop music, becomes a live-action film.

The film portrays encounters between young people who cannot see where their lives are heading, and their search for a future. Kiyosumi spends his days alone, absorbed in composing and performing. Ushio forcibly draws him into the outside world. Their world embodies the reality of the generation living today. To care for someone, to wish for something: it is frightening to reveal that part of yourself. This deeply relatable story is dedicated to you, struggling to live and unable to go anywhere.

“I do not need anything. If I can give shape to the sounds flowing through my head, that is enough.” Kiyosumi believes this until he meets Ushio, who has neither interests nor ambitions of her own and has only pursued other people’s likes.

For the first time, Ushio is moved by Kiyosumi’s music, which feels both lonely and warm. Wanting many people to hear it, she makes it go viral on social media. Guided by Ushio, Kiyosumi forms a band and discovers the joy of creating sound with companions. Then Ushio suddenly disappears. As Kiyosumi struggles to deal with the emptiness in his heart, music seeks to lead him down another new path.

The video extra is a making-of feature that includes previously unreleased scenes.
