Captivated, by You. adapts Yama Wayama's school-life anthology into five animated episodes. At an integrated boys' junior and senior high school, Joji Ema finds himself drawn into the odd behaviour of his classmate Miyoshi Hayashi after a sports festival. Hayashi makes the most of his free time by pursuing things that seem pointless or meaningless to everyone else.

At a different, coeducational high school, Yuichi Medaka is dismayed when Akira Nikaido takes the seat behind him. Nikaido's unsettling reputation has made him an outcast, and other pupils believe that becoming involved with him brings misfortune. These contrasting encounters explore the awkward connections, misunderstandings and unexpected friendships of adolescence.

Kensho Ono voices Miyoshi Hayashi, Koki Uchiyama voices Joji Ema, Nobuhiko Okamoto voices Akira Nikaido and Yuki Ono voices Yuichi Medaka. Asami Nakatani directs the Doga Kobo production, assisted by Yukiko Tsukahara, with series composition by Yoshimi Narita. Mai Matsuura and Junichiro Taniguchi design the characters, and Takuro Iga composes the music.

The single-disc Blu-ray box includes all five episodes, the post-recording cast talk Afureko Iko!, a promotional-video collection and the textless opening and ending sequences. The published running time is 118 minutes. Audio is Japanese Linear PCM, and this edition has no subtitles.
