Cells at Work! turns the microscopic world of the human body into a live-action adventure, with Mei Nagano as Red Blood Cell AE3803 and Takeru Sato as White Blood Cell U-1146. Director Hideki Takeuchi adapts the manga world of Akane Shimizu and Cells at Work! Code Black, combining action and comedy with the daily struggles of the cells keeping their hosts alive.

High-school student Niko Urushizaki lives with her father, Shigeru. Her healthy habits make life comparatively cheerful for the cells inside her body, while her father's irregular, unhealthy routine leaves his own cells exhausted by harsh working conditions. The contrast between their internal worlds gives way to a shared threat as invading pathogens begin to move. The cells must fight for the future of the father and daughter whose lives depend on them.

Mana Ashida and Sadao Abe portray the human family, joined by a cast including Koji Yamamoto, Riisa Naka, Wakana Matsumoto and Shota Sometani. Takahito Ouchi handles the action direction, and Official Hige Dandism performs the theme song 50%.

This standard edition includes the 109-minute film, trailers and television spots on one region-free Blu-ray. The film offers Japanese Linear PCM stereo and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, plus a Japanese Linear PCM stereo audio-description track and Japanese accessibility subtitles. Supplementary footage uses the stereo audio presentation.
