Illustrator Nagano draws creatures that are somehow small and cute, known as Chiikawa. The manga began serialization on Twitter in 2020. When collected volumes appeared in 2021, growing numbers of readers fell under the spell of its cute characters and surreal stories. The characters became widely popular, with collaborations involving clothing brands and famous shonen manga, and won the Grand Prix at the Japan Character Awards 2022. In 2022, Doga Kobo finally brought Chiikawa to television animation! Hachiware, voiced by Makoto Tanaka, sings the ending theme Hitorigotsu, which also appears in the original manga. Shugo Tokumaru composes the music. This deluxe edition features an illustrated anime cover and a set of five postcards reproducing the chief animation director's correction artwork.

The first-production release also offered the Yobikomi-kun Sound Chiikawa Wiggling Kitchen Timer. When the countdown reaches zero, Chiikawa starts wiggling its bottom to the music. This original first-production bonus is limited and ends when supplies run out; its inclusion is not guaranteed for later stock.

Chiikawa is a creature that is somehow small and cute. Always trying hard, Chiikawa and friends such as Hachiware and Usagi, along with other distinctive characters, live through days that are fun, poignant and sometimes a little tough.

This second deluxe volume contains episodes 41 through 80. The main program has a continuous repeat-play function. Video extras include the creditless version of Chiikawa Fortune-Telling. The packaging has newly drawn anime artwork, and the included postcard set contains five images from the chief animation director's corrections. Separate retailer-specific badges are not included with this standard ASIN.
