Chotokkyu, Chikyu wo Sukue. Complete Series Blu-ray

What do ten years of Chotokkyu mean? What are work, youth and dreams? Marking the group’s tenth anniversary and the arrival of new members, this mockumentary and science-fiction drama follows Chotokkyu as they continue to evolve in their first leading roles in a terrestrial television series.

Formed in 2011 and making their recording debut in 2012, the group saw their albums and singles reach the Oricon weekly top ten while expanding into different fields through each member’s strengths. As their line-up grows from five to nine, this story explores what they think and how they live through that change, combining the challenge of a new group structure with a crisis threatening the Earth.

On August 8, 2022, Chotokkyu begin working in their new formation. Kai, Ryoga, Takuya, Yuki and Takashi move comfortably through a shoot, while new arrivals Shuya, Masahiro, Aloha and Haru throw themselves into it with boundless energy. Watching their enthusiasm stirs complicated feelings in the original five. A mysterious sound suddenly transports them to a strange house, where a girl says she has come from the future to save the Earth—and has invited guests who can help resolve their feelings.

Experienced guests help the members reflect on change, leadership and life in the spotlight: fellow performers who have faced changes in their own group, a leader working across theatre, drama, film and variety, and an actress who has spent her life on stage and screen. The release also includes a booklet, making-of footage, member comments recorded after filming, outtakes and other bonus material.
