Countdown to Yes Blu-ray Box

One wants to become lovers; the other is determined to remain best friends. Countdown to Yes follows a month of frustratingly sweet romantic uncertainty between two men who have been unable to move beyond friendship, despite their mutual feelings. Kaname Yoshizawa of Genin wa Jibun ni Aru. and Kakeru Amemiya of GENIC take their first leading drama roles in this adaptation of Roji’s popular BL manga, ranked fifth in the romantic-comedy category of the fifteenth BL Awards in 2024.

High-school classmates Minato Yokoi and Wataru Nakano become best friends through photography and share a room during university. When Minato leaves for a job in Hokkaido, Wataru realizes his feelings in the empty room filled with memories of his friend. To shut those feelings away, he avoids even contacting Minato for three years.

Now working at a local photography studio, Wataru receives word that Minato is returning to their hometown on a job transfer. He looks forward to their reunion while resolving to remain only his best friend—but as soon as they meet, the feelings return.

Then Minato suddenly asks Wataru to live with him. Although he cannot hide his happiness at the invitation, Wataru immediately refuses: he clings to the security of being best friends rather than becoming lovers whose relationship might someday end. Minato responds with straightforward words and actions, setting their mutually unspoken romance in motion.

The collection contains episodes one through five on the first Blu-ray, episodes six through ten on the second, and episode eleven with previously unreleased making-of footage on the third. The bonus footage goes behind the scenes and includes the start and completion of filming. An original booklet collects photographs the two leads took of each other on set.
