Crayon Shin-chan Anime

The wild fool awakens!

Celebrate the 30th anniversary of Crayon Shin-chan's theatrical films with the project bringing films 1 through 19 to Blu-ray. The many classics previously available only on DVD return with high-quality picture and sound. The eighth film is a survival adventure on a tropical island?! Set off on a great adventure in search of Action Mask!

Story The familiar Nohara family - Shinnosuke, the kindergarten child who brings a storm wherever he goes; his little sister Himawari; Dad Hiroshi; and Mum Misae - are taking part in a luxury cruise celebrating completion of the latest Action Mask film. As they approach a tropical island, the long-awaited preview screening aboard the ship finally begins.

Suddenly, a mysterious army of monkeys appears in the venue. In no time at all, Dad, Mum, the other adults and Action Mask are kidnapped! Only the children remain aboard. Shinnosuke and his friends are stunned.

Remembering Action Mask's heroics, Shinnosuke gathers his courage with the Kasukabe Defence Force - Kazama, Nene, Masao and Bo - and sets out to find the adults. They land on the island, but no matter how far they go, the adults are nowhere to be found. Then the monkey army returns, led by a funky king with an afro, and this time everyone is kidnapped. At last, only Shinnosuke and Himawari are left...

Now they're in trouble! What can they do? Shinnosuke decides to carry Himawari and go to everyone's rescue. What will become of Shinnosuke and Himawari's great adventure? And what about Action Mask?!

Contents and extras The feature film and an 8-page commentary booklet. Video extras include the creditless clay-animation opening, theatrical teaser, trailer and a still-image collection of production designs.
