Dai Tsuiseki: Metropolitan Police SSBC Violent Crime Unit Blu-ray Box

The Metropolitan Police Department's Investigation Support Analysis Center, known as SSBC, collects security-camera footage, examines smartphone and computer data and profiles suspects. Its Violent Crime Unit supports detectives investigating murder, robbery and arson. Experienced mobile analyst Shuji Igaki is assigned to train Rintaro Nanami, a former international securities fund manager entering the police through the mid-career civil-service route. Their first case together immediately tests the boundary between analysts and front-line detectives.

Venture-company president Satoshi Kiryu has been stabbed to death. While Igaki begins collecting nearby camera footage, Nanami steps through the cordon to inspect the body, provoking a rebuke from Haruka Aoyagi, a First Investigation Division supervisor and Igaki's former wife. The company's vice president, Ryosuke Tamai, reports surviving a knife attack the previous night. As the team traces the evidence, a visit from Chief Cabinet Secretary Shunsuke Kuze reveals that Nanami is his nephew, unsettling the detectives who have dismissed him. Igaki and Nanami identify a black-clad figure on camera, but Nanami insists on discovering where the suspect came from before handing over the lead. Meanwhile, detectives question programmer Koichi Kawase, a company co-founder dismissed for misusing its funds.

Nao Omori, Masaki Aiba and Nao Matsushita lead the drama, joined by Atsushi Ito, Yuya Takaki, Rika Adachi, Rei Maruyama, Kota Nomura, Ken Mitsuishi, Kenichi Endo and Koichi Sato. Yasushi Fukuda's original scripts explore the people behind modern digital investigations, with music by Kan Sawada and DREAMS COME TRUE's specially written theme 'BEACON'.

The box collects all nine episodes, approximately 417 minutes, on three Blu-rays. A supplementary disc contains making-of footage, the July 5, 2025 pre-broadcast special, a press interview, the programme's summer appreciation event and promotional spots. An original booklet is included. Japanese Linear PCM 2.0 stereo accompanies the drama, with Japanese subtitles on the main programme.
