Dance Dance Danseur Animation

The first television anime adaptation of a work by hugely popular manga creator George Asakura brings an impassioned story of young ballet dancers to the screen. Dance Dance Danseur Blu-ray Volume 3 presents more of their intense youth and dedication.

Junpei Murao is in his second year of junior high school. Ballet captivated him as a small child, but after his father's death he abandoned that path and began practising Jeet Kune Do, determined to be manly.

One day, his classmate Miyako Godai recognises his interest in ballet and invites him to dance with her. As Junpei begins visiting the ballet studio run by Miyako's mother, his old passion reignites and he starts learning ballet again.

Then Miyako's cousin, the solitary prodigy Luou Mori, appears before him. The overwhelming gap between their abilities leaves Junpei devastated, yet his enthusiasm only grows stronger. Without even realising it, Luou also begins to draw inspiration from Junpei. Others seeking even greater heights soon enter their lives.

Behind their graceful performances, these boys and girls keep struggling forward. The impulses of youth collide as they pursue the demanding world of ballet.

The lavish package features a newly illustrated anime slipcase by character designer Hitomi Hasegawa and a tall case with new artwork by George Asakura. A postcard reproduces the original author's tall-case illustration, and special video footage adds further appeal.

The special Ballet Study programme offers a lively introduction to the art of ballet, helping viewers enjoy Dance Dance Danseur even more. This release includes an edited version of the programme originally broadcast in April 2022.
