Denno Coil Blu-ray Box Limited Edition

Beyond the pain lies the truth. Marking fifteen years since the conclusion of its television broadcast, director Mitsuo Iso's acclaimed science-fiction anime returns at an accessible price in this special limited Blu-ray box.

This is the director's-cut version, with animation, sound and editing retakes on selected episodes under Mitsuo Iso's supervision, matching the previously released edition. The storage box features a new illustration by chief animation director Toshiyuki Inoue. Production of the special limited edition may end without advance notice.

Story: The year is 202X, a little way into the future. Cyber glasses have become hugely popular among children. Connecting to the internet from anywhere in town and displaying all kinds of information, they are indispensable, as widespread as mobile phones today, and almost every child owns a pair. The setting is Daikoku City, a regional city that combines venerable shrines and temples with the newest cyber infrastructure. Just before the final summer holiday of elementary school, Yuko Okonogi moves to Daikoku because of her father's work. There she meets another Yuko, Yuko Amasawa. The two share a name and an age but have completely different personalities. At their new school, they meet many distinctive children and experience a succession of mysterious events in cyberspace.
