Deno Boukenki Webdiver — Anniversary BD-BOX, Standard Edition
A Blu-ray box celebrating the twentieth anniversary of Webdiver! The robot anime Webdiver, broadcast on television for a year beginning in 2001, comes to Blu-ray in 2021, its twentieth anniversary year. At the beginning of the twenty-first century, its world and story attracted attention by quickly incorporating the background of a network society in its infancy. This ambitious production combines modelled CG mechanical designs with traditionally drawn characters. Its opening and ending themes have not faded with time and remain beloved songs. Each disc contains approximately ten hours: a compact edition with a full programme. The final episode is included in its broadcast and extended versions. The jacket features a new illustration by Toshinari Yamashita, who worked on the series' mechanical settings.
Story Magical Gate is an online virtual world created for children around the world. But a runaway programme traps the children inside this network world. Now, to rescue his companions, a boy with unknown potential dives into Magical Gate! In the year 2100, the world is united by the World Link computer network. Kento Yuki, an elementary-school pupil living in Diverland, is playing as usual in Magical Gate, the theme park created inside the network. Then the mysterious programme Deletloss invades the Gate and traps the children, including Kento's younger brother Kaito. Kento manages to escape to the real world. Gladion, the righteous Web Knight who serves as the Gate's guardian programme, proposes that Kento become a Webdiver and fight alongside him to rescue the children.
Recorded programme The complete fifty-two-episode television series, including the extended final episode. Video extras: episode 52's television broadcast version, B part only; creditless opening, first period; creditless ending, first period; creditless opening, second period; creditless ending, second period; and the opening with Gladion's narration.
Included scenario book Return of the Web Knights, a completely new episode written by Masafumi Kubota. Time has passed since the final confrontation with Deletloss. Today is the day of a commemorative ceremony. Although he is the ceremony's central figure, Kento sleeps in at his own relaxed pace. Aoi urges him to get ready, while Kaito watches their exchange with amusement. Their lively daily life has not changed since those days. Then an unexpected visitor appears before Kento: Gladion, who travelled into outer space's cyberspace after exploring the Andromeda Nebula. Reunited after a long absence, Kento confides a thought to Gladion. Gladion then begins to tell of his memories connected with the sword of light, the Holy Sword Grand Slayer, which swept Deletloss away in a single strike in their final battle.
