Desert Rose: Snow Apocalypse HD Remastered Blu-ray
デザート・ローズ 砂の薔薇 雪の黙示録
Kaoru Shintani's acclaimed action OVA arrives in the eagerly awaited HD remaster created from a 5K scan of the film negative.
Her name is Rose Marie. She commands Division M, the women's unit of C.A.T., the world's only counterterrorist organization without borders. An indiscriminate terrorist attack killed her husband and child. Having survived the tragedy, she bears a crimson, rose-shaped scar on her chest as a pledge of revenge.
A new order arrives: guard a summit taking place in complete secrecy in Switzerland. A bomb threat has been received. The summit venue stands above the sheer cliffs of a snowy mountain. How can the terrorists possibly plant their bomb? What does the cryptic instruction to ask the stars mean, spoken by a key witness who is killed during the investigation?
The popular manga was serialized in Hakusensha's Monthly Animal House from the August 1989 issue to the April 1992 issue, then in Young Animal from its first 1992 issue to issue 21 of 1998. Adapted into an original video animation in 1993, it is a work into which original author Kaoru Shintani poured his effort, writing the screenplay himself.
The HD remaster was produced from a 5K negative scan.
