DOES return after a year and a half with their fifth original full album. KATHARSIVILIZATION combines catharsis and civilization, expressing the idea that revealing each person’s inner spirit can help build a better civilization and carry it forward. Brighter and more pop-minded than its predecessor, the music also reflects a heightened awareness of Japan following the great earthquake.

Laika no Yume introduces strings for the first time, while arranger Yusuke Tanaka helps open a new side of the band on Brighten A. The direct punk energy of Korekara Kokokara offers strength in the face of hardship; Thunder Light advances their Japanese rock sound, Dancehall Girl becomes a mid-tempo rock ballad, and Katharsis delivers a fully emotional title song.
