emergence brings Gawako's long-developed original illustrations together with commercial work completed through summer 2023. Ten new pieces explore the emergence theme that gives this first collection its title.
An interview accompanies the artwork. A making-of feature follows the newly drawn Needle illustration from the IOLITE series, moving from rough drawing to completion while explaining the ideas and techniques behind it. Published by Genkosha, this Japanese-language artbook contains 144 pages.
