Engeki no Mouri-san The Entertainment Theater Vol. 1 Tenshi wa Sakura ni Maiorite Blu-ray

The Entertainment Theater is a theater unit founded by Nobuhiro Mouri of Shonen Shachu. Its first production explores rebirth through stories of cherry blossoms. Their overwhelming beauty can sometimes drive both humans and angels mad. Fleeting and heartbreaking, this is a story of despair and rebirth that repeats itself. A new form of theater emerges from overcoming harsh circumstances. The cherry blossoms bloom, in full bloom. Will we all be able to laugh together again?

In a world filled with despair, humanity is on the verge of dying out. Two angels descend beneath a cherry tree that no longer flowers. Their names are Raum and Crocell. God has commanded them to determine whether humanity is worthy of rebirth. There they meet the spirit of the cherry tree.

The spirit tells them, "I have a dream. I want many people to gather around me and laugh together again." It begins to show the angels a series of stories connected to cherry blossoms: Ango Sakaguchi's Under the Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom; Motojiro Kajii's Beneath the Cherry Trees; Lafcadio Hearn's Jiu-Roku-Zakura; and the kabuki play Yoshitsune Senbon Zakura.

The spirit wants to show the angels humanity's true nature. People once gathered beneath the cherry trees in full bloom and laughed together. Can they laugh together again? This is a story of despair and rebirth, of human beings who remain foolish and beautiful to the very end.

The Blu-ray contains the main performance from January 2022 and bonus footage of the curtain call at the final performance. Nobuhiro Mouri wrote and directed the production.
