Several years after the Fifth Holy Grail War in Fuyuki, another ritual takes shape in Snowfield, an American city far removed from its original setting. Unusual Masters and summoned Servants converge on a conflict built from an imperfect reconstruction of the Holy Grail War. The result is a struggle whose participants and rules refuse to fit the pattern they are supposed to follow.

Ryohgo Narita's Fate story is animated by A-1 Pictures under directors Shun Enokido and Takahito Sakazume. This box collects the television special "Whispers of Dawn" and all thirteen series episodes across four Blu-rays, with 350 minutes of programme, Japanese Linear PCM audio and Japanese subtitles. Clean opening and ending sequences and promotional videos are included among the video supplements.

The edition combines a "strange" acrylic slipcase with jackets illustrated by A-1 Pictures and original character designer Shizuki Morii, a jacket-art pinup set and a CD of soundtrack rearrangements and outtakes. The Fate/strange Fake Animation Material booklet includes the novel "Midnight Whispers," a prequel following the people and other beings making their way toward Snowfield before the false war begins.
