Gaku Kitada, played by Takahashi, studies at the prestigious Vels Academy and dreams of becoming a mathematician. Kai is there to discuss a party that academy chairman Kagekatsu Saimon, played by Mitsuhiro Oikawa, plans to hold at Kai's two-star restaurant K.

Kai is stunned by the precisely calculated Napolitan pasta Gaku makes, and serves his own version, whose perfect flavor astonishes Gaku.
