Akubi o Sureba is the ending theme for Hakushon Daimao 2020, the revival celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the beloved national animation. The new series began in April 2020 on Yomiuri TV and the Nippon Television network, airing on Saturdays at 5:30 p.m.

Friends releases the song as the title track of this single. The band's characteristic rhythmic, refreshing sound and hopeful, positive lyrics express the world of the anime and add colour to its ending.

The artwork links the worlds of the anime edition, featuring newly drawn characters, and the standard edition. Released in two versions, the single arrives as Friends marks five years since the band formed and looks towards its next step.
