GARO: TAIGA Blu-ray

The young Taiga Saejima takes up the golden armor in this origin story celebrating twenty years of GARO. Before his son Kouga inherits the title of Golden Knight, Taiga is a newly appointed Makai Knight, battling Horrors that possess the darkness in human hearts. Series creator Keita Amemiya writes and directs, with action direction by Masaki Suzumura.

Taiga receives orders to recover a stolen compass holding the souls of four sacred guardians. The Azure Dragon protects life through the power of the earth, the Vermilion Bird burns away evil with fire, the Black Tortoise purifies corruption with water, and the White Tiger brings courage and wisdom through the wind. The Horror Jado, able to absorb the strength of those he devours, seeks to claim their power. Joined by Fuki, a Makai guide who serves at the guardians' shrine, Taiga enters a battle to restore the compass and protect the human world.

Shoichiro Kitada leads the cast, alongside Rika Kashima, Kazuki Namioka, Hyoroku, Katsuhiro Higo, Hironobu Kageyama and Toshiki Seto. This single-disc edition includes the 102-minute film, a teaser, the theatrical trailer and a 15-second television spot. The film has Japanese audio and English subtitles.
