Ghost in the Shell Animation

Ghost in the Shell, a landmark of cyberpunk science fiction, explores the possibilities of the year 2045. What dream does the ghost of the fully prosthetic cyborg Motoko Kusanagi see? The limited Blu-ray BOX presents the second season, which brings this new Ghost in the Shell series to its conclusion.

It is 2045. An economic catastrophe that has shaken every nation, together with the explosive evolution of artificial intelligence, has drawn the world into planned, sustainable war. To stop the cybercrimes of the post-humans, a new kind of humanity that has suddenly emerged in the networked world, Public Security Section 9, led by Motoko Kusanagi, heads to Tokyo, a city reduced to ruins by the previous war.

Motoko and the other members of Section 9 encounter Takashi Shimamura, who leads the refugee group N. As a technological singularity approaches in the ruins of Tokyo, the post-humans' raid begins. With the threat of nuclear war looming from a stolen nuclear submarine, a three-way battle between Section 9, the United States and the post-humans intensifies.

New making-of footage explores the production process, accompanied by a CG breakdown, the opening and ending without credits, teasers, trailers and promotional videos. The included Official Log Book contains staff interviews and commentary on each episode, while the Official Art Book presents production design drawings. The jacket and box feature newly drawn illustrations.
