Gintama's Yoshiwara in Flames arc becomes a CinemaScope feature film, combining the series' unruly humor with a struggle to protect the bond between a parent and child. Gintoki Sakata, who runs an odd-job business in Edo, meets Seita, an orphan surviving through pickpocketing. Seita is searching for his mother and believes she may be Hinowa, the leading courtesan in Yoshiwara.

The vast underground pleasure district lies beyond the law, a city of perpetual night controlled by the Night King Hosen. Even among the formidable Yato, Hosen's strength is exceptional, and he commands the district's wealth and power. To fulfill Seita's simple wish to see his mother, Gintoki and his companions must confront that seemingly unassailable rule.

This standard edition contains the feature film on one Blu-ray disc. Tomokazu Sugita, Daisuke Sakaguchi and Rie Kugimiya return as Gintoki, Shinpachi and Kagura, joined by Yuko Kaida as Tsukuyo, Yuko Sanpei as Seita, Kikuko Inoue as Hinowa and Banjo Ginga as Hosen. Japanese stereo and 5.1-channel presentations, a Japanese audio-description track and Japanese subtitles are specified for the feature disc.
