Glory of Heracles Sound Chronicle 6CD

The sweeping music of five Glory of Heracles RPGs, inspired by Greek mythology and originally released by Data East, comes together with rare recordings from Glory of Heracles III and IV and new arrangements by GAMADELIC.

The collection spans Toujin Makyouden: Glory of Heracles and Glory of Heracles II: Downfall of the Titans for the Famicom, Glory of Heracles: The Gods Begin to Move for Game Boy, and Glory of Heracles III: Silence of the Gods and Glory of Heracles IV: Gift from the Gods for the Super Famicom. Their music was recorded from high-quality output on the original game hardware, bringing the appeal of each composition into clearer focus. Toujin Makyouden and The Gods Begin to Move receive their first CD releases, as does the digitally recorded music of Glory of Heracles III.

Rare music from the limited Greek Recollections album, originally distributed through a giveaway, returns in remastered form. Previously unreleased Glory of Heracles III demos also appear for the first time on CD with the composer’s full cooperation. These demos preserve the music before its conversion for the Super Famicom.

GAMADELIC created and recorded a new arrangement of music from Glory of Heracles III for this collection and newly recorded an arrangement drawing on Glory of Heracles IV. A remastered arrangement from Greek Recollections completes this part of the project. The new vocal recording welcomes back the singer who provided the chorus for the opening theme of Glory of Heracles: Proof of the Soul.

The accompanying booklet shares liner notes from people who worked on the games, recounting how the music came into being and offering valuable recollections of development. It is an invitation to revisit the musical world and creative history of the series.
