Gordian Animation

The popular, long-running robot anime whose nesting combination concept sparked a major craze finally receives its long-awaited first Blu-ray release to commemorate the fortieth anniversary of its original broadcast. This is Volume 2.

Story: Set on a future Earth, this Western-style robot battle anime follows the courage and youth of Daigo Otaki as he pilots Gordian, the giant combining robot designed by his late father, against the Madoctor army.

A popular work from the 1970s, regarded as the golden age of the robot anime boom, the series caused a tremendous response with the nesting combination of its three robots. Gordian's mechanism, combining Protesser, Dellinger and Garbin, became a talking point, and toys reproducing it were major hits.

A new remaster for Blu-ray was produced through HD scanning of the negatives, achieving an unprecedented improvement in picture quality.

An explanatory booklet is enclosed. Video extras include the textless opening, textless ending and an alternate version of the opening.
