Grand Maison Paris Deluxe Edition Blu-ray

Grand Maison Paris sends Natsuki Obana and Rinko Hayami from their successful Tokyo restaurant to the demanding world of French haute cuisine. Their Paris venture sets its sights on three Michelin stars, but the celebrated chef discovers that experience and ambition cannot remove every obstacle. Even obtaining the ingredients he needs proves difficult, and the new restaurant struggles to find its footing.

After a disastrous gala dinner, Obana makes a promise to his former mentor: if he cannot earn three stars at the next Michelin announcement, he will leave the restaurant and France. His colleagues must confront disappointment, personal differences and the challenges of working abroad as they rally around a shared goal. Takuya Kimura and Kyoka Suzuki lead the returning ensemble, joined by Ok Taecyeon and Yoshinori Masakado.

Ayuko Tsukahara directs, Tsutomu Kuroiwa writes the screenplay and Kei Kobayashi of Restaurant KEI supervises the cuisine. The cast also includes Yuta Tamamori, Kanichiro, Ayako Yoshitani, Anne Nakamura, Ai Tominaga, Mitsuhiro Oikawa and Ikki Sawamura. Hideakira Kimura provides the music, with Tatsuro Yamashita contributing the cheering song Sante.

The deluxe edition expands the film with a visual commentary featuring Kimura, Suzuki, Tominaga, Oikawa and Sawamura, a making-of documentary, red-carpet footage, the Grand Maison Tokyo special-drama advance-screening greeting, opening-day and post-release cast appearances, and the programme Grand Maison Project: Yume no Butai de. Trailers are included on the feature disc.

The three-disc Blu-ray set contains the approximately 117-minute feature and two supplementary discs. Main-feature audio comprises Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and stereo tracks plus a Japanese stereo audio-description track; the supplementary discs use Linear PCM stereo. Japanese subtitles are provided for the main feature, while the supplementary discs have no subtitles.
