Handyman Saitou in Another World Vol.1 Blu-ray

He cannot use a sword or magic. But there is no one who can take Saitou's place. A popular web manga becomes a television anime!

Handyman Saitou in Another World began its television adaptation in January 2023. The original popular manga is serialized on web manga sites including KADOKAWA's ComicWalker and Niconico Seiga. Saitou is ordinary: reasonably good at exercise and studying, but never the best at anything. One day, this professional handyman is reincarnated in another world. With the exceptionally individual companions he meets there, he uses his experience as a handyman to tackle dungeons. Even in another world, he is never special. Yet he discovers what it means to be needed and to hear someone say thank you. Saitou finds fulfilment in this uplifting otherworld comedy.

The original first-production announcement advertised many appealing extras, including a special booklet and collections of setting materials and original drawings that helped create the world of the story. It advertised a digipack with new artwork by character designer Yoko Tanabe, housed in an outer case with new artwork by original author Kazutomo Ichitomo, across the three-volume Blu-ray and DVD release. The four announced first-production items were the illustrated outer case, illustrated digipack, special booklet, and setting-material/original-drawing collection. The specialist catalogue marks these first-press inclusions as no longer available; they are described here as historical edition and are excluded from the contents promised for this regular listing.

Regular video extras for Volume 1 are the creditless opening, creditless ending, web preview collection, and live-action bonus programme YuTube: The Hero Cast Try Becoming YouTubers, Vol.1. It features Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Cainz, Yu Serizawa as Raichi, and Chikara Honda as Monpui. This programme has the same content as the version released on YouTube.

Saitou has always lived an unremarkable life. His exercise and study results are merely average, and he is an ordinary person who can never be number one. One day, the professional handyman is reincarnated in another world. There he meets Raelza, a strong and beautiful warrior with a prickly personality; Morlock, an enormously powerful, lecherous old wizard who forgets his spells; and Lafanpan, a cute but money-grubbing fairy. Saitou tackles dungeons with these unusually individual companions. He opens treasure chests using his lock-opening knowledge and repairs his companions' armour with the skills he acquired repairing bags. He puts the handyman experience he gained in his original world to work in another. Even here, he is never special. But he learns that people need him, and learns what it means to be thanked. Saitou finds fulfilment.
