Hatsukoi Loss Time Blu-ray + DVD

In a world where time stood still, I experienced my first and last love. This poignant first-love story follows two people who meet during an hour each day when time stops.

The film is based on Yuki Nishina's novel Hatsukoi Loss Time, published in KADOKAWA's Media Works Bunko imprint. Mizuki Itagaki plays the protagonist Koji Aiba. A member of vocal and dance group M!LK, Itagaki won the Japan Movie Critics Award for Best New Actor for Solomon's Perjury and is a young actor whose performances have earned high praise. Sakura Kiryu plays the heroine Tokine Shinomiya. The youngest-ever grand-prize winner of the forty-first Horipro Talent Scout Caravan, she also became the youngest lead performer in the musical Peter Pan. This is her first screen role.

The fresh young cast brings a relatable love story to life, supported by Ryoma Takeuchi as a young doctor who holds an important key to the plot. Accomplished actors Anna Ishibashi and Masahiro Komoto add further depth. Hayato Kawai, whose youth films include Let's Go, Jets!, directs. The theme song Omoibito was written for the film by the much-discussed band Ryokuoushoku Shakai. Ainobori's insert song Ichibyo no Hanataba also carries the story's bittersweet emotion with a refreshing touch.

One night, a young doctor, played by Takeuchi, remembers a strange phenomenon he once experienced and the important person he met then. Once, time stopped.

Koji Aiba, played by Itagaki, is studying to retake university entrance exams when everything around him suddenly comes to a complete halt. It is 12:15 p.m. Although he is in class, Koji alone can still move. Bewildered, he goes into town and meets Tokine Shinomiya, played by Kiryu, the only other girl who can move. They name this strange hour, which begins every day at 12:15, loss time. As they spend it together, they grow closer.

Koji once dreamed of becoming a doctor, but after his mother's death, he began giving up on everything, believing effort was pointless. Tokine refuses to give up even when something seems impossible, and meeting her gradually changes him. He tells her that he wants to meet even outside loss time. Yet Tokine vanishes from his life. She has a major secret she cannot tell him.

Who was the important person the young doctor once met during loss time? What will become of Koji and Tokine's love? The story moves toward an unimaginable miracle.

The set includes the 104-minute film on Blu-ray and a bonus DVD with fifty-seven minutes of extras: a trailer collection, interviews and event footage, including the September 2 completed-film screening and September 20 opening-day stage greeting. Audio commentary features Mizuki Itagaki, Sakura Kiryu and Ryoma Takeuchi. The cast also includes Anna Ishibashi and Masahiro Komoto.
