Hideki Matsutake's Digital Moon + The Infinite Space Octave pairs two late-1970s synthesizer projects in a remastered reissue. Digital Moon, recorded in 1979 around his work with YMO, transforms James Bond themes into electronic arrangements, from the James Bond Theme to Moonraker and Goldfinger.
The Infinite Space Octave follows with four sound experiments from 1978, using the illusion of endlessly rising and falling scales. Together, the recordings offer contrasting perspectives on early Japanese synthesizer music: familiar film melodies reshaped by programming and purely sonic explorations of perception. This fourteen-track edition is presented on one Blu-spec CD2.
