Higurashi: When They Cry Anime

An entirely new story takes you to a Hinamizawa that no one yet knows. A new project begins for Higurashi: When They Cry, the legendary series that once captivated an entire generation.

Far from the city, surrounded by nature that remains vivid and abundant, lies the village of Hinamizawa. The village was once supposed to disappear beneath a dam, but it remains unchanged and welcomes transfer student Keiichi Maebara. For Keiichi, who previously lived in the city, the lively yet peaceful days spent with his Hinamizawa friends should have been happy times that would last forever. Until the day of the village's annual Watanagashi festival arrives.

June 1983. When the cicadas cry, everyday life suddenly comes to an end and an unstoppable chain of tragedy begins.

Volume two contains the four parts of the Watadamashi arc, episodes five through eight, and a collection of promotional videos. The original first pressing included an illustrated outer case, a storyboard, a bonus item and a booklet; these physical extras depend on first-press copy availability.

The cast features Soichiro Hoshi as Keiichi Maebara, Mai Nakahara as Rena Ryugu, Satsuki Yukino as Mion Sonozaki and Shion Sonozaki, Mika Kanai as Satoko Hojo, Yukari Tamura as Rika Furude, Chafurin as Kuraudo Oishi, Toru Okawa as Jiro Tomitake, Miki Ito as Miyo Takano, Toshihiko Seki as Kyosuke Irie and Yui Horie as Hanyu.
