Hikaru Utada Fantôme SHM-CD
宇多田ヒカル/Fantome
Eight years after HEART STATION closed with a plea to be taken to an empty world, Hikaru Utada returns from a hiatus with her sixth original album. Hanataba o Kimi ni, the theme for NHK’s Toto Neechan, and Manatsu no Toriame, the NEWS ZERO theme, were released together digitally in April 2016, breaking chart records and taking 107 number-one positions in Japan and abroad.
They appear on CD for the first time alongside Sakura Nagashi, the Evangelion: 3.0 theme unexpectedly released digitally in November 2012 during her break from music. Everything else is newly written. Ringo Sheena joins Nijikan Dake no Vacance, KOHH appears on Bokyaku, and Nariaki Obukuro contributes to Tomodachi. The upbeat Michi became a Suntory Natural Water commercial song.
Uniting joy and sorrow, Utada’s voice tells stories through words and melodies only she could write. Filled with pop music’s unfading vitality, freshness and seemingly inexhaustible richness, Fantôme arrives as an eagerly awaited new masterpiece.
