Horimiya TV Series

A withdrawn boy and a model student become connected by a secret. The hit manga Horimiya—described in the original live-action announcement as having six million copies in circulation—comes to the screen as both a theatrical film and a television drama. There is still so much they do not know, but this time belongs to them alone.

Izumi Miyamura is the plain, gloomy boy who is always alone in class, while Kyoko Hori is a bright, popular honour student. They seem like complete opposites, yet share something important: each has a secret side that nobody else knows.

One day, a mysterious, heavily pierced young man who looks like a member of a band brings Hori’s injured younger brother home. He is Miyamura, appearing as he never does at school. In turn, Miyamura sees Hori without makeup, her hair casually tied back, looking after her brother and keeping the household running. By chance, they discover one another’s secrets.

From that day, the distance between them begins to close. Miyamura, who had shown little interest in other people and had no friends, finds his school life taking on colour after meeting Hori. Gradually, more friends enter their lives. They laugh together, fight, face their worries and fall in love, in a bittersweet story of youth. This collection brings together the film and all seven drama episodes, along with making-of footage and the premiere preview screening.
