Illustration 2020 presents work by 150 artists across Japanese pop culture, contemporary art and online illustration. More than ninety percent of the contributors differ from the 2019 annual, and returning artists are represented by different works.
Daisuke Richard created the cover illustration, with book design by Tomoyuki Arima and a revised interior layout. Brilliant Palette printing reproduces the artists' colors and brushwork.
Interviews feature book designer Asami Sato and illustrator Little Thunder, followed by a conversation between Richard and Arima about making the cover. Edited by Koji Hiraizumi and published by Shoeisha, this Japanese-language annual contains 317 pages.
