In Those Days Blu-ray

A lot has happened, but this is the happiest time of my life. Still, now and then I remember those days we spent together.

Having failed his graduate-school entrance exam, with no girlfriend, no money and nothing enjoyable in his life, Tsurugi, played by Tori Matsuzaka, is living at rock bottom. One day, he watches a music video by Aya Matsuura and becomes captivated by the idols of Hello! Project. Together with friends he meets at events, he begins devoting himself to this passion.

Alongside a group of distinctive personalities, including the stingy, dirty-joke-loving Kozumin, played by Taiga Nakano, he promotes idols at school festivals and forms a band called Renai Kenkyukai, the Romance Research Society. Looking back, these foolish yet beloved youthful days seem so strange that the only explanation is that they must have lost their minds. But time passes, and the friends find things more important to them than idols. They gradually drift apart. Then Tsurugi learns that Kozumin has cancer.

The Blu-ray contains the 117-minute film, making-of footage, a full Romance Research Society roundtable discussion, a conversation between the director and the original author, and a collection of stage greetings from the completion announcement event, the pre-release event and the release commemorative greeting. A trailer collection and an audio commentary by the original Romance Research Society members are also included. The roundtable and director-author conversation are exclusive to the Blu-ray edition. A leaflet was planned for enclosure. Recorded contents may change.

The cast features Tori Matsuzaka, Taiga Nakano, Takashi Yamanaka, Ryuya Wakaba, Tateto Serizawa, Kentaro Kokado, Hiroto Oshita, Kenta Kiguchi, Seina Nakata, Yuki Katayama, Yuhane Yamazaki of BEYOOOOONDS and Naomi Nishida.
