Inu-Oh Regular Edition Blu-ray

The latest film from Masaaki Yuasa, director of The Night Is Short, Walk On Girl and Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, comes to Blu-ray. A director who continually expands the possibilities of animation takes on Noh, one of the world's oldest performing arts. He vividly and powerfully depicts Inu-Oh, a real Noh performer who captivated audiences during the Muromachi period, as a pop star. Leading creators, whose next works are always eagerly anticipated, unite for this fresh perspective on intense friendship and the world of Noh.

In Kyoto during the Muromachi period, Inu-Oh is born with an unusual appearance into a sarugaku troupe. Shunned by those around him, he has his face hidden behind a gourd-shaped mask. One day, he meets Tomona, a young biwa player who has been blinded by a curse of the Heike.

Before exchanging names, they exchange song and dance. Tomona plucks the strings of his biwa, and Inu-Oh stamps his feet. In an instant, a rhythm and a world belonging only to the two of them unfold. This is where we begin!

Inu-Oh embraces even his harsh fate and carves out his own life through powerful dance. Tomona searches for the truth behind the curse, playing his biwa in resonance with another world. Becoming partners to survive turbulent times, they bring out each other's talents and captivate people as unique entertainers. What awaits them at the height of their success?

This is a story of friendship across time, born from Inu-Oh, the real Noh performer and pop star hidden in history, and Tomona.

The cast features Avu-chan of Queen Bee as Inu-Oh, Mirai Moriyama as Tomona, Tasuku Emoto as Yoshimitsu Ashikaga, Kenjiro Tsuda as Inu-Oh's father and Yutaka Matsushige as Tomona's father. The regular edition contains the film with Japanese 5.1-channel and two-channel audio, Japanese subtitles for the hearing impaired and a Japanese audio guide. It is supplied in an Amaray case.
