Iron-Colored Girls pairs daito's female characters with firearms, railways and cars across more than 160 illustrations. Personal work, commercial commissions and newly drawn pieces share the collection, showing the artist's interest in both mechanical detail and character illustration.
Little Armory model-kit packaging and Rick G Earth character artwork sit alongside novel covers, railway-themed character designs and magazine illustrations. The book also includes commissioned posters, music-jacket and spoken-word project artwork, calendar illustrations and work featuring Black Lagoon's Roberta.
Its military illustration section draws on MC Axis and Gun & Girl Illustrated, covering submachine guns and personal-defence weapons, contemporary American firearms, assault and battle rifles, Second World War battleships and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force subjects. The Japanese-language collection is published by Ikaros Publications and contains 160 pages.
